I just came back from Malaysia, for a wedding and to visit my relatives.
It wasn't really a free and easy trip coz we were mostly on the go. We went to Pak Itam's house in Shah Alam first (well the aunties had a chance to visit Tesco at night - it's like Giant supermart). And one of my aunt forgot her son's passport and had to turn around. Poor her. To make matters worse, the bus she took after that had a punctured tyre and they were delayed like for 2 hours. (In fact, I think it was quite a nightmare for her, coz when we came back, the trip wasn't smooth-sailing either)
So the next morning, we headed for N. Sembilan (which is like 2 hours away from Shah Alam, imagine having 2 or 3 weddings in a day, man, that would be quite hectic) So we went in a convoy of 3 cars, driven by Pak Itam, Angah and busu lah... Hehe, busu was so cute. Anyway, me and my 3 cousins took the smallest car - 800 CC only lah. And, RM10 filled up to half tank. Ah well, hot weather, rain, we encountered all that in the few hours. It was a laze around session (which was somewhat tiring) - imagine, look around, sleep, wake up and eat cheezels, talk abit, sleep some more, wake up, eat another packet of cheezels, sing a bit, and it goes on for like many many hours... times 2!! But it was fun, to hang around with your family, and meet relatives who have seen you when you were young and you have no recollections at all, and yet they know who you are. Need to do more of such trips. Reached home finally around 10pm, have dinner.. Everyone was so tired (except for the kids, who have such enormous amount of energy stored tank in them). Energy is inversely proportional to your body size and of course age.
Well, Sunday started early for us as the bus home was at 8.30am, and we ony reached home at 8.30pm (That is like a 12 hour journey!!). For the first time, the bus we took was faulty, something about the brake. And we were stranded (sort off) at some rest stop for almost 2 hours! (That was a nightmare all over again for my aunt) But we had Baskin Robins ice cream. I had 2 in fact. These trips always had this thing for making me put on weight. Another bus came to our rscue but it was warm in that bus man. And we had to change our route and got through Woodlands checkpoint instead of Tuas, and boy, there was a very bad jam. The kids were restless and noisy. Everyone was exhausted. And when we reached Singapore, my family separated from the rest coz they were going to Rochor. We walked out to the wrong bus stop and walked further to the right bus stop and at the same time, tried to get a cab, which we got finally, with much difficulty. Phew...
At home finally, and somehow feeling that I am going to have a fever. Sighhhh... Enjoyed the trip though, it could have been longer. Anyway, am looking forward to PD.
By the way, kids nowadays are starting out all wrong. My two little girl cousins tried to match make me with the neighbour next door and they think I didn't know. Giggling and all, I'm not dumb my dearests. I am afterall much older than you 2.
